It has been communicated already since several months. GCC, in which Cemex has a 40% minority stake, will build a new 3000 tpd kiln line in Odessa, TX, in the USA by year end 2025. Thyssenkrupp Polysius is the supplier of the kiln line, which can also be upgraded to 3500 tpd. GCC, which achieves about 70% of its cement and concrete sales in the USA and only 30% in Mexico, had in the first 3 quarters this year a -8% YoY decline in the US cement volumes, while the concrete volumes increased +16%, YoY. Oil-well cement contributed to about 20% cement sales in the US.
