Saudi’s Riyadh Cement ordered ORC plant from Turboden

Riyadh Cement Company ordered a 13 MW organic rankine cycle (ORC) waste heat recovery (WHR) system for its cement plant, which is located northwest of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The WHR-system will be provided by Turboden, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, to recover waste heat from two 5000 tpd production lines with a grey cement capacity of 3.4 Mta. Sinoma Energy Conversation is serving as the EPC contractor for the project. The venture represents a historic milestone as the first-ever ORC plant to be installed within the Kingdom, underscoring Turboden’s commitment to pioneering innovative technologies in the GCC market.
