Shurfah Cement and cooperation partner Hoffmann Green Cement celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the H-KSA 1 plant in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. The agreement between the two companies, signed last year, foresees the construction of four Hoffman Green facilities in Saudi Arabia to support the use of low-carbon and clinker-free cement. The Shurfah Construction Group aims to finance, build and operate green production facilities throughout the country and sell their decarbonised cements in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan. The plant will be constructed by IBAU Hamburg in accordance with the technology used by Hoffmann Green in its H2 model plant in Vendée, France.
