Thailand-based Siam Cement Group (SCG) announced the expansion of its low-carbon cement production in Southern Vietnam. The product reduces CO2 emissions by up to 20%, compared to standard cements, through the use of renewable energy, alternative fuels, a reduced clinker factor and waste heat recovery (WHR) at its plants (photo). Beside the domestic market, also export markets in the USA, Canada and Australia shall be supplied. Export capacity is 6,000 to 8,000 tpd.
