Shuntai Investments announced to build a 2nd cement production line in Zvishavane, a town in the Midlands Province of the country. While Sinoma CBMI Construction has been awarded the EPC contract for the new 6000 tpd clinker production line, for Shuntai Investments, the contract marks a significant capacity expansion. The company’s entry into Zimbabwe has been the Shegutu 1800 tpd clinker production line, which nears completion now (photo of a plant part). The new production capacity comes amid a rising demand, which is driven by a healthy infrastructure development, housing construction, and requirements by the mining activity. When both lines will be operational by 2027, the company has a cement capacity of nearly 3.0 Mta and can supply more than 40% of the local cement.
