Myanmar’s largest cement producer Siam Cement Group (SCG) from Thailand suspends its operations in the country due to several reasons. In recent years, SCG has become the leading cement provider in the country with commissioning the 1.8 Mta greenfield plant Mawlamyine (photo) in Mon State, Myanmar. Now, SCG is the next Thai company that is gradually moving out their investments because of the instability in the country and the sluggish economy. According to SCG, there is no hope of resuming operations soon.
