Yesterday, Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc. inaugurated its new production line, capable of producing 2.0 Mta clinker and 3.0 Mta cement, at National Highway, San Fernando in Cebu. The new 6000 tpd kiln ljne replaces an old clinker production line, which was demolished in 2021. General plant contractor has been Sinoma Handan, the cement plant technology is from Conch-Kawasaki. The new state-of the-art production line reduces the energy consumption and cuts significantly the CO2 emission of the plant, which can be upgraded with a lower clinker factor to 4.0 Mta (2 times larger than old plant) and above. The investment cost were ₱15 billion (US$ 220m).
