Aggregate Industries, which is part of the Holcim Group, is constructing a new import terminal and grinding plant at the Port of Tilbury in Essex, UK. For the state-of-the-art grinding unit (photo of the construction site, a new LM 30.2 CS vertical roller mill (VRM) from Loesche has been ordered. The VRM with integrated dynamic classifier and all auxiliary equipment is for the stand-alone grinding of granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) and different types of cements. The Tilbury facility shall be fully operational in 2026 to supply customers 24 hours a day with conventional, low carbon and circular cementitious materials from five loading heads.
