US cement producer Monarch plans to build a 20 MW solar facility with Evergy Energy Solutions on Monarch’s property at 1311 Florida Road in Humboldt, Kansas. With the capacity to generate 20 MW of clean electricity, the project is designed to offset a significant portion of Monarch’s energy consumption, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and to contribute to the company’s sustainability journey. The groundbreaking ceremony for solar project is scheduled for Spring this year. Commissioning will be probably in 2025.
