Vietnam’s exports dramatically declined in 1H 2024

In the first half of 2024, Vietnam’s cement & clinker exports dramatically declined by -45.7% to 15.9 Mt, after 29.3 Mt in the same period last year and 29.9 Mt in the year before. China reduced their imports by more than 90%, so that only 0.045 Mt have been exported to China. Plants halted temporarily production. Due to a loss making situation companies have financial troubles and are extreme under pressure. Experts were discussing foreign investment and a taking-over of assets.
