West International Holding (WIH) plans the construction of the 3.0 Mta Jinja cement grinding station in Njeru, Buikwe in Uganda. WIH is a JV of Chinese and Ugandan Investors, which commissioned already a first cement project in Moroto. At the ground breaking ceremony (photo) of the new 2 x 1.5 Mta plant it was stated that the first phase of the Buikwe plant shall be completed in September 2025 and create over 1500 direct and indirect jobs. The plant shall supply the Central market of Uganda as well as export markets in Tanzania and Kenia.
