The world largest renewable 2.2 Gigawatt power plant is installed in Qinghai in China. It is a photovoltaic plant producing 5 billion kWh clean power from solar energy, saving 2.375 Mta of CO2. The plant was built in the Gonghe County by a collaboration of Huawei Enterprises and Huanghe Hydropower Development to send the electricity to the populated Henan Province about 1500 km to the east. This is another option for the cement industry to reduce the carbon footprint.
