China-Zambia Dejinxin Cement, which is a subsidiary of China’s Jiangxi Dejinxin Industrial Co., plans a 1500 tpd integrated cement plant in Zambia. In 2016 the company installed a subsidiary in capital Lusaka (photo: Skyline) and awarded in 2023 an EPC contract for the plant to the Luoyang Building Materials Design Institute (LCDRI). The investment is about US$ 170m and comprises the cement plant, quarry and a captive power plant. This investment shall create over 1000 jobs during the construction phase and more than 500 permanent positions once operational. Plant construction will start next year.
