Spain’s Cementos Molins and Enagás have agreed to submit the MOSUSOL NetCO2 Project to the EU Innovation Funds, aiming to capture one million tons of CO2 per year at Molins’ Sant Vicenç dels Horts (Barcelona) plant (photo), including the biogenic fraction. The captured CO2 will be transported via pipeline for subsequent storage or potential use in green fuel production. The investments costs including the CCS-technology and transportation are estimated € 590m, the timeline is 2030. The proposed CO2 transport network will offer transportation, measurement, quality control, and efficient delivery of the captured carbon dioxide.
