Indonesia’s SBI expands its cement export capacities

Indonesia PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SBI) is to expand its cement exports capacities at its Tuban plant, after a significant contraction of the local cement demand in 1Q 2025 and the huge cement overcapacity in the country. SBI operates 4 cement plants in Narogong (West Java), Cilacap (Central Java), Tuban (plant photo) (East Java), and Lhoknga (Aceh) with a total cement production capacity of 14.8 Mta and is majority owned by PT Semen Indonesia (SIG). The new exports facilities for a capacity of up to 1 Mta will require to install another jetty, which could be operational by new year.
