The Dominican Republic-based construction company Grupo Estrella has expanded its cement operations in Central America with the acquisition of Cementos Fortaleza in El Salvador. The transaction includes Cementos Fortaleza’s Acajutla grinding plant (photo), which has a cement production capacity of 0.35 Mta. The acquisition will extend Grupo Estrella’s cement presence to three countries: the Dominican Republic, Panama and El Salvador.
