The measure comes after a significant decline in cement volumes following weak construction demand in France due to the current economic environment and is part of Heidelberg Materials’ ongoing optimisation of its European production network. This foresees to adapt the clinker supply to changing market demands in line with a stronger focus on the end product cement. A total of 87 employees would be affected by the plant closure. Heidelberg Materials France is committed to developing socially responsible solutions, including redeployment offerings to other sites in France.
