UK’s Carbon Clean announced the launch of its breakthrough CycloneCC C1 series, marking the penultimate stage in the technology’s commercialization. The company has developed a modular rotating packed bed (RPB) technology with a propriety amine-based buffer salt technology, that is vital for scaling industrial carbon capture deployment to achieve CO2 targets. The unit footprint (photo) is up to 50% smaller than conventional carbon capture units. The CycloneCC trains can be optimized for different industrial emissions, capturing up to 0.1 Mta of CO2 per unit. As we understand, this is probably a cost-effective route to decarbonisation, particularly for small-to-midsize emitters.
