China’s Anhui Conch will be starting probably next month the new 6300 tpd kiln line in Andijan, near Uzbekistan’s boarder with Kyrgyzstan, and will increase its cement capacity in the country to 5.8 Mta. With Andijan Conch, the company has now 3 subsidiaries in Uzbekistan and operates the Qarshi Conch cement plant (photo) since 2022 and the Tashkent Conch cement plant since August last year. Anyhow, the cement capacity in Uzbekistan is rapidly increasing with about 30.2 Mta at the end of 2023 and a cement capacity utilization of less than 50%, which has been criticized by Uzbekistan’s President.
