The Buckeridge Group of Companies (BGC) in Perth announced the sale of their cementitious division to Cement Australia. Over the years, BGC became an integrated construction and manufacturing business in Western Australia, with the supply of slag and bulk cement in the cement sector. Cement Australia on the other hand, is an industry heavyweight and a JV between Heidelberg Materials and Holcim in Australia. The acquisition comprises a cement grinding unit along with other operations in cement, concrete, quarry, asphalt and transport as well as a materials technology centre. The acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close in the 2H 2025 and will complement and expand Cement Australia’s business.
