Cementi Hutalon, which is a newcomer to the cement industry of Tajikistan, intends to build a 1.2 Mta capacity cement plant in Bustonkala in the Kushanyan district of the country. The greenfield plant will be located near the Kurgontepa limestone deposit in Kushanyan to allow the use of the local raw materials. The plant will use Chinese technology and is expected to be operational in 2029. Two more expansion projects were announced in the last few months in Tajikistan with an expected combined cement capacity of 3.6 Mta for all three plants. A second plant shall be installed in the city of Istaravshan and a third in Kharangon in the Varzob district.
