In 2023, China’s annual cement production declined -4.5% to 2022.9 Mta, after 2118.0 Mta last year and 2377.0 Mta in 2021. Accordingly, in only two years time the production has been shrinking by 354.1 Mta, which is more than the complete production of North and Latin America. Anyhow, due to capacity closures, the cement capacity utilization in China was still 72.2%.
