The Cemex Group, headquartered in Mexico, will be the first cement company to join the CCS+ Initiative, a multi-stakeholder platform developing a comprehensive carbon accounting framework for certifying industrial carbon projects. The CCS+ Initiative brings together more than 55 leading organizations in the industrial carbon management sector, including large industrial players, start-ups, trade associations and advisory companies. Currently, Cemex is running several CCS + CCUS projects to decarbonize its footprint.
