Cimaf (Ciments de l’Afrique) ignited its new 5000 tpd integrated cement plant in Pout, about 25 km east of Senegal’s capital Dakar. The project has been undertaken by Sinoma CBMI Construction. The ignition milestone marks the official transition of the project from the construction stage to the trial production stage. The contract came into effect in May 2022, financed with a loan by the IFC (International Finance Corporation). The project comprised additional associated infrastructure including rehabilitation of an existing 2 km access road, installation of 6 power substations and an optional transmission line in Pout.
