HERACLES Group, a member of Holcim, launched a new large-scale solar power plant at its Milaki cement plant in Evia, Greece, following the commissioning of a similar installation at its Volos plant earlier in May. With an installed capacity of 6.5 MW, this €6 million investment is part of the Group’s broader energy transition plan, focusing on meeting its own electricity needs through renewable sources. In total, 11,000 state-of-the-art photovoltaic panels were installed (photo), reaching an annual production of 10 million kWh. Beyond energy self-sufficiency, the project also reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately 2,350 tons annually.
