Heidelberg Materials announced that they entered into a binding purchase agreement to acquire Walan Speciality Construction Products in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. The business consists of a 3 year-old ready2grind slag grinding facility (Photo: image by Gebr. Pfeiffer), which has a capacity of 0.15 Mta. The facility shall help to decrease the companies clinker factor in the US cement production to reduce the carbon footprint. A timetable for the integration of Walan Speciality Products has not been given.
