Ramco Cements Ltd (RCL) increased the clinker capacity of the Kalavatala plant in Kolimigundla Mandal in Andhra Pradesh, India. The capacity of the plant, which has been commissioned in April 2022, has been increased in 18 months by 0.65 Mta to 3.15 Mta through ‘debottlenecking’. The plant has already been operating at full capacity. RCL has planned RS 1600 crore (192 US$m) towards capex for FY24, including an 18 MW thermal power facility for the Kalavatala plant and the expansion of a cement grinding plant in Odisha from 0.9 to 1.8 Mta.
