India’s Chettinad installed 2nd line at Kallur works

Chettinad Cement announced the light-up of kiln line 2 at their Kallur cement plant in Chincholi Taluk, Gulbarga district of India. The new 7500 tpd kiln line (photo) has been commissioned and installed by KHD Humbold Wedag. Together with line 1, which has been commissioned in 2012, the Kallur plant has a combined clinker capacity of 15500 tpd to produce various types of cement with a capacity of 5.7 Mta. Electricity for the plant is provided by a 30 MW captive power plant, an existing 3.0 MW solar power plant a new 5.0 MW solar plant and a 7.3 MW WHR-system from kiln 1 and 12.0 MW WHR from kiln line 2.
