India’s Dalmia expands 1 Mta at Kadapa plant

Dalmia Cement has expanded the capacity of its integrated cement plant in Kadapa (photo), Andhra Pradesh, in India by 1.0 Mta grinding capacity. Now, the company operates a cement manufacturing capacity of 46.6 Mta across 15 plants and grinding units (GU) which are spread across 10 Indian states. In May the 1.0 Mta GU in Ariyalur in Tamil Nadu has been opened. Ongoing capacity additions still comprise 2.9 Mta, including the 0.5 Mta brownfield expansion in Rohtas, BH as well as a 2.4 Mta greenfield expansion in Lanka, AS. In total, Dalmia plans to increase its capacity to 75 Mta by FY 2027 and to 110-130 by FY 2031. This could also include 9.4 Mta inorganic expansion via the acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates.
