The board of India’s JK Cement has approved a major greenfield capacity expansion. After receiving the environmental clearance for the Jaisalmer integrated plant in Rajasthan, it has been decided to install a 4.0 Mta clinker line and a 3.0 Mta cement grinding unit (we reported here 24. August 2024). Furthermore 2 split grinding plants with 2.0 Mta each shall be installed in Rajasthan and Punjab (Photo: Jhajjar split grinding unit). The total investment for the expansion has been outlined with Rs 4,805 crore (about US$ 550 m). The split grinding plants could be operational in 1 year, the integrated plant will take at least 2 years.
