India’s Ramco with first limestone cargo terminal

Ramco Cements has inaugurated the Gati Shakti cargo terminal at Jayanthipuram village in the Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh, India. The cargo terminal has been installed to transport crushed limestone from Ramco’s mines in Budawada to its 3.65 Mta integrated cement plant in Jayanthipuram. The transport of about 5000 tpd limestone is with railway wagons over a distance of 8.3 km to the wagon unloading station in the terminal. Acc. to Ramco Cements, this is the first of its kind project by a cement company in India. The Gati Shakti initiative is by the Indian Government to improve India’s infrastructure. 48 Gati Shakti multi-cargo terminals were already installed by summer last year.
