India’s Shree Cement announced plant in Meghalaya

India’s Shree Cement announced a significant greenfield expansion in Meghalaya in northeast India. The integrated plant shall have about 1.0 Mta clinker and cement capacity and will be installed in the East Jaintia Hills district. At the moment the company operates in India a cement production capacity of 62.8 Mta (we reported here 25.02.2026, photo: Raipur plant) but has no existing capacity in that area. The total investment will be ₹1,800 crore. Expected completion is by the quarter ending March 2028.
