India’s Shree Cement plans new plant in Maharashtra

India’s Shree Cement has announced plans to invest Rs 2,000 Cr (US$223m) in a new 2.0 Mta cement plant in Maharashtra. He company has finalized and acquired land in Chandrapur district and is awaiting environmental clearance. After it is cleared, it will take two years for installing the plant. At present, Shree Cement has a capacity of 62.8 Mta (photo: Raipur cement plant). In the second quarter of FY 2026, the company commissioned a 3.65 mtpa clinker unit at Jaitaran, Rajasthan, and a 3 Mta cement mill is expected to start there shortly. A 3.9 Mta integrated plant at Kodla (Karnataka) is in the final stages and will be commissioned within the third quarter of FY 2026.
