InterCement is negotiating to sell the shares in cement producer Loma Negra to Grupo EMES, one of the largest private equity and institutional investors in Argentina, led by founding partner and Chairman Marcelo M. Mindlin. InterCement, owned by Mover Participações (formerly Camargo Corrêa), holds a 52.14% stake in Loma Negra, while the remaining shares are free float. Loma Negra operates 4 integrated cement plants (photo: Amali) and 3 grinding units with in total 7.9 Mta cement capacity. Mover Participações decided not to sell its assets in InterCement in Brazil, preferring to generate cash from the cement business and thus repay its debt.
