Lafarge Serbia, which is a member of the Holcim Group, plans to invest 110m Euro in a new cement plant in Belgrade’s Obrenovac municipality. The company operates the Beočinska cement plant (photo) in the Vojvodina district, 50 km Northwest of Belgrade. The new facility shall produce green cements from fly ash, which is provided by Serbia’s state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije, operating two coal-fired power plants in Obrenovac, with a total installed capacity of over 3 GW. The first phase of the project is planned for completion in 2026.
