Cahya Mata Cement, which is a subsidiary of Malaysia’s Cahya Mata Sarawak awarded a contract to Sinoma for a new 6000 tpd clinker line in Kuching. Accordingly, the capacity of the Mambong cement plant (photo) shall be expanded from 0.9 Mta to 1.9 Mta. EPC contractor is Sinoma. The project shall commence in August 2025 and is expected to start production by April 2027 and to be fully operational by June 2027. According to the cement producer, line 2 is a key step in strengthening Sarawak’s cement supply chain, boosting capacity, reducing import reliance and ensuring future demand reliability.
