In the first half of 2023, the cement production inn Russia increased by +1.3%. In the 1.H 2023 about 28.456 Mt of cement were produced, compared with 28.078 Mt in 1H. 2022. The largest YoY increase was in June with +7.2%, while the largest YoY decline was in January with -10.5%.
Cement dispatch in Saudi Arabia declined by -5.2%
In the first 8 month of 2023 the cement dispatch of the Saudi cement producers declined by -5.2%, when compared to the first 8 month 2022. From Jan.- to Aug. in 2023 about 32.006 Mt of cement were dispatched, compared to 33.768 Mt from Jan. to Aug. 2022.
Cementos Argos inaugurates 2nd solar farm in Honduras
Cementos Argos and Argos Group company Celsia Energy inaugurated a solar farm for the cement grinding plant in Río Blanquito, Honduras. The solar plant is the 2nd of Cements Argos in Honduras and will supply about 25% of the Choloma grinding plant’s energy consumption, which will significantly reduce its total CO2 emissions.
Slight decline in Morocco’s cement dispatch
Although in August 2023, in Morocco the cement dispatch increased by 7.6% (YoY), the accumulated cement dispatch in the first 8 month of 2023 declined by -0.8% to 8.141 Mt, when compared to the 8.209 Mt of the first 8 month last year.
Massive decline in Poland’s cement production in 1.H 2023
In Poland, in the first half of 2023, there has been a -16.2% decline in the cement production. 7.775 Mt of cement have been produced in 1.H 2023, after 9.282 Mt in the 1.H of 2022. The production decline has been month by month.
BUA Cement to reduce cement prices in Nigeria
BUA Cement Plc has announced plans to reduce the price of cement in Nigeria from the present N5,500 to between N3,000 to N3,500. This was made known by the Chairman of the company, Abdul Samad Rabiu, after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja on Friday, September 15, 2023.
