Riyadh Cement started a WHR (Waste Heat Recovery) unit at its 3.7 Mta Al-Muzahmiyya grey cement plant, northwest of the city of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia (photo: one of two production lines). The installation has a power generation capacity of 12.6 MW and has been installed by Sinoma Energy for a contract value of US$ 38.4 million. The contract had been awarded in November 2023. At the moment, the WHR unit is undergoing a test phase, full operational results are expected in the 2nd half of this year.
