The stone laying ceremony at Ciment de l’Afrique’s (CIMAF) new clay calcination plant at its operating plant in Quagadougou in Burkina Faso has been celebrated. The plant is supported by a loan from the IFC (we reported 13.10.2023). Together with the clay calcination unit, a solar power plant will be installed, to achieve energy autarky and reduce the production and cement costs. Completion of the plant is expected by August 2026.
