Taiwan Cement Corporation (TCC) and thyssenkrupp Polysius signed a memorandum of understanding to build an Oxyfuel calciner at TCC’s Hoping plant (photo) in Taiwan. The new calciner shall be integrated into the existing production, which comprises 3 kiln lines. The project will start with plant engineering. In 2022, TCC’s scope 1 CO2 cement plant emissions in Taiwan were 4.31 Mta. TCC strives for a net-zero cement production by 2050. Up to now, no information has been provided about capacity, project timescale, etc.
