After announcing a year ago that its cement plant was ending production, Dragon Products Co., a subsidiary of Giant Cement, will now use the Searsport harbor to import cement from Spain and then transporting it to Thomason. This strategic shift is driven by the cost effectiveness of international importing compared to local manufacturing.
