West China Cement (WCC) started the construction of a 6000 tpd cement plant in the Alginsky district of the Aktobe region in Kazakhstan. The company is a leading cement producer in the Shaanxi province in China and started its overseas expansion already several years ago. The capacity includes 25.0 Mta in China, 2.5 Mta in Uzbekistan (photo: 6000 tpd Andijan cement plant), 6.3 Mta in Ethiopia, 2.0 Mta in Mozambique and 1.5 Mta in DRC/Rwanda. Additionally, 5.7 Mta of capacity are under construction or newly acquired in Rwanda, Uganda and Mozambique. The new plant will increase WCC’s overseas capacity to more than 20 Mta.
