Heidelberg Materials signed a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for their CCS project at Padeswood cement in Flintshire, UK. This comes after the company choose already about a year ago Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ KM CDR solvent-based process for the planned 0.8 Mta carbon capture system in Padeswood. Heidelberg intends to be part of the HyNet North West decarbonisation cluster and to produce Heidelberg’s evoZero® carbon captured net zero cement in the UK as early as 2028.
