Taiwan’s cement production -10.2% in 4M 2024

In the first 4 months of 2024, Taiwan’s cement production declined by -10.2% to 3.195 Mt, after 3.559 Mt in the same period last year and 3.840 Mt the year before.

In the first quarter of 2024, Taiwan’s cement production declined by -2.8% to 2.665 Mt, after 2.679 Mt in the same period last year. However, in March this year the production increased by +15.5%, YoY.
In the first 2 month of 2024, in Taiwan the cement production declined by -9.1% to 1.585 Mt, after 1.744 Mt in the same period last year. In February alone, the YoY decline has been -16.0%.
In January 2024, in Taiwan 0.857 Mt of cement were produced, which corresponds to a -2.3% YoY decline. This is a small decline, when compared to -21.8% in January last year.
In 2023, the cement production in Taiwan (ROC) declined by -8.7% to 10.246 Mta, after 11.224 Mta in 2022. The cement capacity utilization declined from 55.6% to 50.7%
