Votorantim

Votorantim Cimentos has secured a US$150m loan from the IFC to upgrade its Salto de Pirapora cement plant in São Paulo. The investment aims to increase the alternative fuel (AF) substitution rate by installing a RDF facility with 120.000 t/y capacity, and reduce its CO2 emissions. The project is part of the company’s long-term sustainability strategy and is an important step in Votorantim’s decarbonization journey and its Sustainability Commitments to reach 475 kg of CO2 per ton of cement by 2030 after 597 kg/t  in 2022.
